Hazel the schnauzer and Wrigley the black lab mix mean everything to Harriet Buscombe. The dogs protect her on her pre-dawn runs around her Champaign, Ill., neighborhood, but mostly they make her feel great.
?My children are grown now and having dogs around keeps me ?still a mom? in many respects,? Buscombe said in an email interview. ?I always feel a lot better ? like all of my problems have lessened ? because I have spent times with my dogs.?

Although Flurry was born with a leg defect and is unable to bend her front legs, this doesn?t slow her down one bit. She enjoys chasing wild birds and squirels and would do best with some obedience classes and structure in her new home. Although she loves cats, Flurry needs a home without children.
Shadow is a gorgeous Labrador Retriever Mix. This young mom delivered a litter several months ago and all of her puppies have been adopted. Shadow has since been spayed and is ready for a new home.
Dodger and Yankee are two lemon-colored beagles who recently lost their owner who was devoted to both of them. These sweet boys were used to going to the dog park to play every day and need a home together. Save-A-Pet is hoping that someone with a big heart will open their home to them.
Save-A-Pet says that all of these dogs are up-to-date with their routine shots. They have also already been house-trained and altered.
