After a long, cold winter, it may be tempting to breathe in the warm spring air -- unless you're among the 35 million Americans with seasonal allergies. "Early rain, luxurious plants and balmy weather -- that's when people suffer," says Richard Weber, M.D., a professor of medicine at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine; an allergist at National Jewish Health in Denver; and president of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. If the coming allergy season proves to be anything like last year's, it will be among the worst on record, says Weber. Having an allergy season checklist as you're getting ready for spring allergies can help you avoid the wrath of pollen.
